Don’t Be Content with Bad Content

If you’re attempting to put out your own content but aren’t getting great results, this means that it is time to change things up. Hitting a plateau is normal, as are numbers changing to a down curve, so don’t fret and abandon all your efforts. All it means is you need to take things up a notch!

Don’t be okay with poor content just for content’s sake. We get it – you’re busy, and getting a post up for the day can be a thorn in your side and relief once it’s done. The problem with that is: people can see right through it. Chances are you are turning people off instead of having them flock to you. Luckily, there are easy things you can do to get out of your bad content rut and get those numbers climbing back up once again.

Simple Steps to Up Your Content Game

Ask Questions

In case you haven’t noticed, people on social media absolutely love giving out their opinion. It can be scary because sometimes it can be a negative one. However, it is important to get out there and ask for it. What do your followers want to see more of from you? What do they like? What don’t they like? Instead of trying to read minds and guess what they want, just ask them and watch your comments section explode. Take their advice and work it into your marketing strategy – they are your target audience, after all!

Evoke a Feeling

Media content should be able to portray what you are trying to say – a picture is worth a thousand words, after all. Instead of trying to literally say words with photos, find photos that evoke the feeling you’re trying to get across. If you’re a beauty company, this can include that feeling of leaving the spa and salon. Instead of talking about how great it is, show it with photos that evoke an emotion.

Clean It Up

These days, you only have about half a second to capture someone’s attention with your content. If it is full of clutter, people will likely keep scrolling. If they see it over and over again, they’re going to eventually unfollow you. People love clear, bright, interesting images. Get rid of all the extra stuff and just let the subject of your photo stand out and speak for itself.

Invest in Quality

If you’re trying to create your own graphics or write your own content but still can’t seem to hit the mark, invest in getting a quality job done. This can include investing in programs like Photoshop, good camera equipment or backdrop for videos and photography. Or, it could mean hiring a graphic designer or content writer to curate content for you. They can do the job in a fraction of the time that you can, allowing you to focus on the parts of your business that you’re good at – and leaving the other stuff to the professionals.
